Dear community members,
Thank you for expressing interest in the important work of the Misconduct Working Group. Over the coming months, we will keep you updated on the progress of their work through this mailing.
Today, I and other university leaders participated in the final planning meeting with student leaders as we transition into the implementation phase to be carried out by the Misconduct Working Group.
In today’s meeting, we introduced students to representatives from Husch-Blackwell, the external firm hired by the university to help us assess and improve how the university handles Title IX and misconduct issues. We also shared the charge and objectives of the Misconduct Working Group. The membership includes six undergraduate students, three graduate students, one post-doctoral student, five faculty members, one staff member, six university leaders and two representatives from Husch-Blackwell. The full details can be found on our website. During the meeting, students asked whether the findings and recommendations of Husch-Blackwell will be shared. The provost confirmed they will be shared widely with the community.
The date of the town hall forum, shared with students during our meeting today, will be January 27, 2020. Details, such as the location and format, will be determined with the help of the working group. You can expect to receive more information once it is confirmed.
We will continue to share regular updates from the working group. If your colleagues or peers would also like to receive these updates, they can do so here.
The work of this group is enormously important and I appreciate the contributions and expertise these members bring to our collective effort.
